My name is Abigail Lesher and this is my seventh year teaching. I am excited to be teaching reading at Robbinsdale this year! The last few years I've been teaching English language arts in Mounds View and St. Cloud School Districts.
I grew up in Apple Valley and went to college at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Go Mavericks! I love to spend my free time with family and friends. Some of my hobbies include crocheting, taking photos, watching movies, going camping, and being active (running, biking, swimming, ice skating, snowboarding/skiing). Above all, my favorite hobby is traveling. This last summer I went to Colombia, South America to visit a good teacher friend of mine. I was lucky enough to be there to enjoy the World Cup excitement.
Last school year I completed my Masters in Literacy Education through St. Mary's University. I conducted a research thesis on effective reading strategies for students while focusing on how best to identify which strategies work for each student. Reading is my passion and I always have great book suggestions (should you be in need). Please check out the "Reading" tab above for some great resources!
